DISC BONUS RESOURCE

INTERACTION GUIDE REPORT

Interaction Guide Reports allow you to enter two individual access codes for completed reports.

The DISC Team Chart is a free bonus resource for Tracy Day | Day Development DISC assessment customers. After you enter the two individual access codes, the tool opens an 11-page interactive report that helps you identify the most effective ways to interact and connect with each other based on your personality styles.

Important Note on the "Mode Feature"

Enter one

The Interaction Guide is based on the strongest trait for each person, not the personality blend of each person. For example, if Joe is D/I and Sam is an S/C then the report will show a "D" (Joe's strongest trait) interacting with an "S" (Sam's strongest trait).

You can switch the traits to use in the report to a secondary trait by going to the bottom of page 6 or 7 in the report and selecting a different "Mode" for each user to get a different combination of traits. You will see a drop-down selector shown at the bottom of the page where you can choose D,I, S or C as the trait to use for each person.

The report will automatically refresh and display a new report using the selected personality combination. For example, a person who is a D/C personality blend may sometimes be in a "D" mode and sometimes a "C" mode depending on the situation. So, you may want to select "C" mode for that person if you anticipate him or her interacting moreso in that "mode."

We encourage you to try the "mode" feature (found on pages 6 and 7 of the Interaction Guide Report) to gain different insights into how each person might interact based on his or her primary and secondary traits.

This is the tool that turns individual DISC results into a team conversation.

How to Save an Interaction Guide Report as a PDF

To save a report as a PDF file, just look for the "Save as PDF" link at the top-left hand corner of the page when the report appears.

Click that link, and the report will be downloaded to your computer into the directory where your downloads normally are placed by your browser.

Note: The PDF format will not preserve the "mode" feature found on pages 6 and 7 of the report. See the method below to preserve that feature.

Tips for Using the Interaction Guide

  • Use this report as a tool with the mindset that anything that will help your relationship is worth the effort.

  • Read this report with the other person in mind. Remember, you are trying to understand the other person better in order to adapt your behavior to their needs. Focus on what you can do to better connect with the other person and meet their needs, not what they need to do.

  • Ask the other person to look this report over. They may not agree with what the report says about them entirely. That is normal. The report is not perfect. They can clarify their preferences and motivations. This is a tool to help you have a constructive conversation to grow in awareness and understanding.

  • Realize that the other person's natural personality style may differ from what you observe. This feedback is based primarily on each person's "basic style"—which is a person's natural, built-in personality. Each person also has an "environment style" which is how he or she adapts in daily life (his or her environment). For example, a person may display different personality traits at work versus at home. So, while the other person's report may not seem to fit what you observe in them, it may give you a better picture of their natural personality style.

  • Use the "Mode" feature found on the bottom of pages 6 and 7 to adjust for each person's current circumstances. For example, if a person has a C/S personality style then their mode will be "C" by default, which will reflect their task-oriented nature. However, if you are interacting with that person in a more personal, relaxed, friendly way, then you may select the "S" mode if that better fits the context of what is going on. The "S" mode will reflect their people-oriented nature and give you insights on how to connect better with them in that situation.

  • Use the "Composite Graph" on page 8 to get an at-a-glance view of each person's personality style. You will quickly see how similar or dissimilar your personality styles are. This chart often provides an "aha moment" for each person to see that the other person is not just like he or she is.

  • Review this Interaction Guide report with the other person. Use this as an opportunity to interact and communicate with each other. Be open, honest and positive.
